IYT CERTIFIED SAILING COURSES IN GIBRALTAR

TEAM BUILDING IN  A YACHT                                                                   TASTER SAILING EXPERIENCES

Alan Benady is the principal instructor at the Sailing School in Gibraltar. Alan, as well as being a fully certified MCA Yachtmaster and  Instructor, is a passionate lifelong sailor.

Alan was brought up around boats. His father owned a converted Admirals barge so it’s no surprise to know that he found his sea legs at an early age. On his twelfth birthday he was given a clinker built dinghy with a 1 1/4hp Seagull outboard engine and from that day forward he was rarely seen on dry land.

At the age of eighteen he bought his very own Cornish Crabber and decided to sail to Ibiza resulting in many a tale to be told when the anchor is dropped. After decades of sailing both commercially and for leisure Alan started teaching with IYT  (International Yacht Training)  in 2002.

Alan is a keen supporter of the IYT way of learning. the IYT modular Passport to Yachting enables the student  to increase their knowledge and confidence in yachting at their own pace.

Although Alan has many years of experience, and can teach every last element of the IYT curriculum, he believes that learning and sailing should be an enjoyable experience. With incredible landscapes and sea creatures, and a history spanning to the very earliest of times, Alan provides a thorough learning experience combined with beautiful surroundings.
